Who: Eric, Sookie, Rose, Sam (any others?)
What: Eric goes to meet Rose's vampire hunter, Sookie insists on tagging along
When: Thursday, near midnight
Where: 2nd Floor Hallway
Status: In Progress
Warnings: Swearing? Eric hopes for no violence (shocking, I know)

As expected, after hearing of the meeting Eric had agreed to with Rose and her 'vampire hunter,' Sookie had insisted upon coming along. He'd asked her to stay behind, not sure if this was going to turn into a trap set by said hunter, but she had quickly gotten angry with him, insisting that her presence and telepathy would be useful. He had to admit that she was correct in part - if Sam were setting up an attack, having a human companion who at least knew him would be helpful in proving his 'innocence', and her ability would warn them of any unpleasant intentions. Eventually, he relented, allowing her to come along. He would have preferred her to remain hidden, but he knew her well enough to know that she would never stand for that.

They arrived at the assigned meeting point early, which conveniently was on the 2nd floor hallway, not far from Sookie's room. Eric leaned against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest as they waited for Rose to arrive, his eyes flicking down each end of the hallway periodically to check for any movement. Despite his belief that Rose hadn't been lying to him (he was pretty good at sniffing out the lies of humans), that didn't mean that her friend was going to keep his word and come without her. Sookie needed to stay safe, which meant he needed to be prepared.

Eric heard the sound of nearby footsteps before he saw them through the darkness, and he silently cursed his mildly dulled senses as he stood up straight and stepped to the middle of the hallway, positioning himself in front of the blonde telepath. Still, it was easy to hear that there were two pairs of shoes coming closer, and that was a good sign. So far, everything was going as planned. He glanced over his shoulder at Sookie, the two blondes exchanging a silent stare, before returned his attention to the approaching figures.

This entire encounter had him on edge. Rose had gotten this 'Sam' to arrive as promised, but he seemed completely against the situation. He wouldn't respond when Rose suggested he greet them, he simply stood still, and if looks could kill, Eric would have been dead where he stood.

Fortunately, that was impossible, and Eric found himself entirely unamused and not threatened in the slightest. From here, this 'vampire hunter' looked quite vulnerable and human. Then again, he hadn't known what to expect. The man did not even have a visible weapon on him, though the Viking was quite sure he'd brought something with which to harm him. His body language was too negative for that not to be the case.

Eric had the distinct feeling that this would go very wrong at some point. It was more of a question of when than if.

"If you have questions or concerns, now would be the time to voice them," he said, looking at the man pointedly. Eric was not one to back down, and if it came to a fight, so be it. He would not hesitate to defend himself or Sookie.

Rose didn't hide her disappointment when Sam refused to answer. She knew he was acting how he thought best, but being cold wasn't going to start any conversations.

She stood in silence for a moment. Having Eric explain his background would only be a waste of time. Rose had already given that information to Sam a few nights prior.

"Um, Sookie," the Companion piped in, trying another route. "Since Sam an' I are jus' meetin' ya, why don'tcha tell us 'ow ya met Eric?" She shot Sookie a look, hoping she'd get the hint in the dark. "Betcha feel really safe and comfortable around 'im, yea?"

...Subtlety wasn't Rose Tyler's specialty.

Sookie looked between everyone, this was much harder then she expected. The way that Sam wouldn't say much and the fact that she couldn't fully hear his thoughts made her feel more uncomfortable then she thought possible.

Sookie looked to Rose and got what the girl was trying to get at. She really wasn't the best at being subtle, if only she knew that Sookie could read some of thoughts.

"I well, met Eric when I went to his bar. You see he owns this bar and a friend of mine brought me one night. Vampires are out in the open, everyone knows bout them," she smiled as she paused; she had to be careful of her wording. "He needed help with something and I helped him out." She couldn’t exactly tell them why he needed her help. "Been helping him ever since and he's saved my life a few times." And, put it in serious danger, but she'd leave that part out.

"I know in your worlds they must seem like monsters, but they aren’t like that in ours." Which was only half true, but she knew that she needed this Sam guy to think that vampires were no threat at all. "I've seen," she glances at Eric, "a different side of him. It's hard to believe at first, but I swear that it's there. Eric wouldn't harm a soul." And, Sookie told another lie. She was sure that Eric wouldn't hurt anyone in this house, because of that, she didn't feel bad about lying one bit. When it came to the ones she loved cared about, she'd do anything to keep them safe.
