"Yeah, it's me, Rose," Brooke called out, then glanced over at Max. She gave him a weird look at his last sentence, then shook her head a little. After pushing aside some of the tree branches as best she could, Brooke started moving further into the forest, following the direction she thought Rose's voice was coming from.

"You know," she said to Max, "I really hate nature. If I'm going to be stuck outside like this, I demand a cabin complete with running water and doors to keep bugs out."
